It's time for the Davidson Police Department's annual Angel Tree, and here's how you can participate during the 2019 holiday season:
November 19 - The Angel Tree will be up in the town hall lobby and anyone can come by to pick up an ornament tag to sponsor one child or several.
November 24 and December 4 - The police department will hold wrapping parties for gifts. Other dates may be added as needed.
December 19, 10:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. - Police and volunteers will distribute gifts to families. (If gifts remain, December 21 will serve as a back up day for distribution.)
Volunteers can assist with the following:
Make the tree tags – cut out the shapes, decorate lightly on one side of each tag, and attach hanging loops. We use the tags as ornaments on the Angel Tree. Anonymous information about the child’s age, gender, interest, and sizes are written on the undecorated side for sponsors.
Assist with wrapping gifts and attend wrapping parties – held at 251 South Street – Future Town Hall.
Assist with distribution and delivery of gifts on distribution day.
Collect of donations and gifts for drop off to Davidson PD.
